Frequently asked questions
What is the most important nutrition rule on GLP-1 medications?
Protein first. These medications reduce appetite and can cause some muscle loss during rapid weight loss, so prioritizing protein at every meal helps protect lean mass and keeps you full. Use the protein calculator to find your target.
Are any foods completely off-limits?
Very few. Most foods are fine in the right portion. Greasy, fried and very sugary foods are the most common nausea triggers, so they are “limit,” not “forbidden.” See foods to avoid.
Why do I feel nauseous after eating?
GLP-1 meds slow how fast your stomach empties, so large or high-fat meals sit longer and can cause nausea. Smaller portions, more protein and fiber, and eating slowly usually help. See foods for nausea.
How much water should I drink?
A common target is about half your body weight (in pounds) in ounces, adjusted for activity. Adequate water also helps prevent the constipation many people experience. Try the water calculator.
